Lexi Needham and Haven Freidig 2014 WBCA All Stars!

The WBCA has selected Lexi Needham, Fennimore and Haven Freidig, Belleville as 2014 WBCA Division 4 South All Stars!  Hannah Loeffleholz, Cuba City, was selected as an Alternate.  All 3 played for Coach Freidig this past Swing season.

The team consists of 10 players from the south brackets of Division 4.  Notable teammate is 2014 Wisconsin Miss Basketball Gabrielle Ortiz of The Prairie School.  Ortiz will play next season at Division 1 Oklahoma.

They were selected to play in the June 20th game at Wisconsin Dells. They will take on the WBCA Division 4 North team at 9:00 am.  Their game is followed by the other divisions throughout the day.

Needham and Freidig will have a fun filled week of basketball.  The Head Coach is Melody Owsley from The Praire School.  The girls will head to Racine to start their preparation for the All Star game on Sunday, June 15th.  They will spend 3 days their getting to know their team and practicing.  On Wednesday, June 18th they head to Wisconsin Dells as the WBCA hosts all the teams at the Great Wolf Lodge!  They practice, have a great banquet, take in sights in the Dells before taking the floor at 9:00 am for the Division 4 All Star game.

The WBCA All Star games main mission is to select the top players in each division to play in the game and also raise funds for the MACC Fund.  (Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer)  In the past 36 years, the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association has donated more than $2 million to the MACC Fund.  Each player and coach is asked to raise a minimum of $500 for the MACC Fund.  If you are interested in donating on behalf of Lexi and Haven, you can go to www.wisbca.org and click on the 2014 All Star game donations link.  Search for them under Girls Division 4 South.

Congratualations Lexi and Haven for being selected and Hanna for being selected as an alternate!  It is quite an honor.  We are proud of you!
