If you love basketball and have a passion for coaching kids being a youth SWING coach is an excellent way to spend your Spring/Summer. Being a coach for SWING gives you the opportunity to work with other great coaches and work with really talented players.
Coaches are the face of the SWING program. The coach is the one person players and parents interact with on a regular basis. They will formulate their view of the entire SWING program almost exclusively on their experience and connection with the coach and teammates.
Therefore, if you become a youth SWING coach you agree to:
Be a positive role model.
Communicate openly and frequently with players and parents.
Prioritize player development over winning games.
Be prepared for practices and games.
Give your best effort at all times.
As a youth SWING coach you are committing to the following activities: Attend Fall/Winter tryouts to evaluate players. Plan and facilitate 6-12 practice sessions. Coach 5-8 tournaments from April–July.
SWING wants to make sure all coaches have the tools they need to succeed.
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT: Program marketing, fee management, player package procurement, practice and tournament scheduling.
COACHING SUPPORT: By request only. Staff will share best practices for productive practice plans and effective skill drills.
We are always looking for good coaches to join the SWING FAMILY. If you are interested in becoming a coach please contact the Boys Youth Director.
