Swing Programs

High School Program (15u–17u)

Age Groups

Wisconsin Swing High School Program is available to athletes at the 15u, 16u and 17u levels.

Coaching

Wisconsin Swing offers coaches who have experience as Varsity Coaches and College Assistants throughout Wisconsin, who are dedicated to player development, team building, and helping players to gain exposure.

Competition

Swing traditionally has two teams per age level that participate in the NY2LA Association, as well as 1-2 additional teams that participate in highly competitive events. All Swing High School teams participate in NCAA Live events during the spring/summer season. All of our teams play high level competition and a schedule that allows them to gain exposure.

Youth Program (9u–14u)

Age Groups

Wisconsin Swing Youth Program is available to athletes at the 9u, 10u, 11u, 12u, 13u and 14u levels.

Coaching

Coaches are the face of the SWING program. The coach is the one person players and parents interact with on a regular basis. They will formulate their view of the entire SWING program almost exclusively on their experience and connection with the coach and teammates.

Competition

The Swing Youth Program is designed to place highly-skilled, like-minded players together with the intent to expose them to advanced drills and competition for the purpose of maximizing their skills development and personal growth.

Participation Expectations

By joining the SWING FAMILY you agree to represent yourself and the SWING brand in a respectful, first class manner.

PLAYERS

  • Participate with a positive, hard working and team spirit attitude.
  • Participate with a work ethic, effort and competitive spirit that brings the best out of yourself and your teammates.
  • Be respectful by giving your coaches your undivided attention and being prompt to practices/games.

Parents

  • Provide your child with support and encouragement. They will face many challenges as they push themselves to grow as basketball players and young men. They need your support and encouragement to build confidence as they go through this growth development experience.
  • Support your coaches and their decisions. The coaches are experienced and work hard to develop each player. Although you may not always understand or agree with their decisions, they are doing their best with the team's best interest in mind.
  • Volunteer your time. There is always a need for help when it comes to working clock/book at games or making reservations for team lunches/dinners. Contribute your fair share.

Lastly, all participants should remember to remain grateful. We get to experience the joy of participating in a kids game at a highly competitive level. It is meant to be fun, let's keep it that way!

Skills Academy Sessions

These sessions focus solely on individual skill development through a series of drills and small game play (1v1, 2v2 & 3v3). The sessions will be facilitated by an experienced coach or by a guest trainer. The sessions will include participants from multiple age groups, such as 9U-11U and 12U-14U.

Team Practices

These practices consist of both individual skill development and the team game concepts. Each team coach plans practices for the needs of their teams.

Tournaments/Competition

Each coach will identify tournaments that are the appropriate competition level for their team. The tournaments will consist of regional club competition from WI, IA, IL and MN. The regional tournaments are located within a 2-hr radius of Madison. For 13U-14U, if the team warrants participating against higher level of competition the team will be scheduled for GNBA/NY2LA tournaments that bring in national competition.

Gear

In addition to receiving a full uniform and practice jersey, the players receive an additional item. The additional item changes each year. Examples include a basketball, backpack, shooting shirt, etc.
